Frequently asked questions:

Trauma Informed Coaching with Emmy Marie

What is trauma-informed somatic coaching?

Trauma-informed coaching is a compassionate, collaborative approach that helps you reach your goals, whether they are having healthier relationships, a more loving relationship with yourself, a more fulfilling career, and beyond.
As a trauma-informed coach, I do not seek to fix you. Instead, I help you reconnect with your inner power, build self-compassion, and create a life and relationships that support your healing.

How is trauma-informed coaching different from therapy?

Coaching focuses on empowerment, education, skill building, and moving toward the future you want.
Therapy often focuses more on diagnosis, clinical treatment, and processing trauma at a deeper level.

My coaching approach is ideal if you want:

  • support understanding yourself, your relationship patterns, and inner beliefs

  • help reducing shame and self-blame, and creating more self-compassion within yoruself

  • support creating and practicing boundaries, communciation, and other relational habits

  • somatic and attachment-informed tools

  • guidance that feels warm, validating, and deeply human

Coaching is not a replacement for therapy or health care.

Who is this coaching for?

My work is designed for trauma survivors and sensitive, introspective people who:

  • feel too much or never enough

  • struggle with shame or worthiness

  • overextend themselves to feel accepted

  • have trouble trusting others

  • find themselves drawn to people who aren’t a good fit for them in relationships

  • resonate with people-pleasing and want to let that go

  • struggle to set boundaries

  • want to understand their triggers and patterns

  • want to stop settling and start believing in their worth

If any of this feels familiar, you are in the right place.

What happens in a coaching session?

Sessions are 60 minutes on Zoom and may include:

  • a brief check in

  • exploring what is coming up for you and your intentions or goals for yourself

  • understanding your emotional and nervous system responses

  • somatic exploration - noticing what is present in the body

  • connecting with parts of self that may feel unheard or exiled

  • compassionate reframing of shame

  • guidance for boundaries, communication, and self-care

You also receive a written session recap to review afterward.
